疏三十九「也（夷舸切）娑（蘇舸切）字」。若會經者，「衰老性」，即佛法境界。兼餘老死者，菩薩勇猛觀境也。《智論》云「若聞磋字，即知磋字空，諸法亦爾。」釋曰：以是通相，更無別釋，然衰老性即是別義。

> In the commentary on the thirty-ninth \[syllable\], 'yasa' (也娑, pronounced yí-gè and sū-gè). If correlated with the sūtra, the 'nature of decrepitude and old age' is precisely the sphere of the Buddha-Dharma. Conjoined with the rest of aging and death, it is the sphere observed vigorously by the bodhisattva. The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa states: 'If one hears the syllable kṣa (磋), one immediately knows that the syllable kṣa is empty, and so too are all phenomena.' The explanation says: Because this is a universal characteristic, there is no distinct explanation, yet the nature of decrepitude and old age is indeed a distinct meaning.
