- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.31](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1748.2.31)

> On the passage in the sūtra from "all roots of goodness" to "inconceivable": The commentary states: This second \[part\] is the virtues accomplished. "Roots of goodness" are the causes of merit and wisdom. "Crossing over" means arriving. The practices of merit and wisdom all arrive at the other shore of bodhi and nirvāṇa; hence this is the accomplishment of the cause. "Obtaining the Buddha's merits" is the adornment of merit. "Wisdom, sagacity, and brightness are inconceivable" is the accomplishment of the fruit of the adornment of wisdom.
