- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.42](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1753.2.42)

> Seventh, from 'during this time' down to 'his countenance was harmonious and joyful,' it directly clarifies that because the father-king ate food and heard the Dharma, he did not die for many days. This directly clarifies that the queen consort offered food for a long time to eliminate hunger and thirst. The two sages also internally supported him with the precept-dharma and skillfully opened the king's mind. Food could prolong life, and the precept-dharma nourished his spirit; sorrow was lost and distress was forgotten, causing his facial appearance to be harmonious and joyful.
