- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [3.69](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1754.3.69)

> "\[The Buddha said:\] 'Those who contemplate the Buddha Amitāyus should enter through a single mark and characteristic, simply contemplating the ūrṇā between his eyebrows, making it extremely clear. When one sees the mark of the ūrṇā between the eyebrows, the eighty-four thousand marks and characteristics will naturally appear.'" Possessing many marks naturally is because the single mark of the ūrṇā encompasses all marks. According to the sūtra text, one contemplates it as the measure of five Mount Sumerus; hence it says the eighty-four thousand marks and characteristics will naturally appear, and we know it is not the ūrṇā of a sixteen-foot body. Second, contemplating a single Buddha.
