"The Buddha told Ānanda and Vaidehī: 'Listen attentively, listen attentively, and ponder this well. The Tathāgata will now expound pure karma for the sake of all sentient beings of future generations who are harmed by the thieves of afflictions.'" Listening attentively and pondering well are precisely the two wisdoms of hearing and reflection. "For future generations" directly indicates the Semblance and Final Dharma ages. "Harmed by the thieves of afflictions" refers to ordinary beings fully bound \[by defilements\]. "Pure karma" refers to the sixteen contemplations. Second, praising the request.
