阿彌陀經疏 1.34

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.34](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1760.1.34)

在舍衛國等者，謂我從佛聞乃有其處，即在舍衛祇園聞佛說也。在者住也。如來本住寂光，憐憫眾生故迹住舍衛。梵語舍衛，此翻聞物，謂具足欲塵財寶之物、聞解脫之人故也。

> 'Dwelling in the country of Śrāvastī', and so forth, means that where I heard it from the Buddha indeed had its location: namely, hearing the Buddha speak in the Jeta Grove in Śrāvastī. 'In' means dwelling. The Tathāgata fundamentally dwells in the Land of Eternally Quiescent Light; out of pity for sentient beings, his trace-body dwelt in Śrāvastī. In Sanskrit, Śrāvastī is translated here as 'fame and goods', meaning it was endowed with the goods of desire-objects and wealth, and with people of fame and liberation.
