> Because this dharma-door is inconceivable and difficult to believe and understand, there was no one who could raise a question. The Buddha's wisdom examined their capacity and knew that their capacity had matured; therefore, he expounded it unasked to grant them the four benefits. Having heard it, like being transformed by seasonal rains, they rejoiced and faithfully accepted it. The body and mind being delighted and pleased is called 'rejoicing'; having not the slightest doubt is called 'faith'; retaining and not forgetting is called 'accepting'; feeling profound gratitude for the great kindness and surrendering oneself in refuge is called 'making obeisance'; and cultivating in accordance with the teaching, advancing straight forward without retreating, is called 'departing'.
