> Sengliang comments: Because the illness is one-sided, a physician is needed. The physician and the disease treat each other; he is called skilled. Sengzong comments: The physician and the mother are metaphors according to different senses: the sense of nurturing the understanding of wisdom is analogized by the mother, and the sense of curing the illness is the physician; there is no other intent. 'Seeking' means waiting for their capacity to emerge in order to cure them. Zhixiu comments: Wholesome \[karma\] knocks at the dharmakāya, the dharmakāya extends its response, and the response-body acts as the physician; this is analogized by seeking.
