- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [65.14](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1763.65.14)

案僧亮曰：外道以斷事為道，故臥灰食糠也。佛法不爾。而或者聞在欲不障，謂欲心現前亦不障道也；聞欲心是障，便謂香華等事亦能障道；故起諍也。

> Sengliang comments: Non-Buddhists take the cessation of external matters as the path, hence they lie on ashes and eat chaff. The Buddha's Dharma is not like this. Yet the confused, hearing that being amidst desires is not an obstruction, think that the presence of desire in the mind also does not obstruct the path; hearing that the desirous mind is an obstruction, they immediately assume that external objects such as incense and flowers can also obstruct the path; thus disputes arise.
