> Sengliang comments: Each having a location is termed 'all exist.' The locations clung to are two; thus both are impermanent, following objects. Baoliang says: Having completed these three propositions of refutation, he then concludes by stating that empty space is nonexistent. Furthermore, as worldly people say that all places without obstruction are named empty space, the Buddha sets up a further hypothetical objection: If the absence of obstruction is called empty space, is this empty space entirely and completely pervasive in saṃskṛta places, existent places, nonexistent places, or does it exist in parts? If it exists completely, then it is absent elsewhere, and it cannot be pervasive in all places; your empty space is existent, so how could it pervade? If it does not pervade, it is a phenomenon countable as this or that, and is impermanent. Furthermore, if someone says that space is unobstructed and conjoins with existence, there is likewise no such principle.
