### [8.56](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1763.8.56)

> Sengzong states: The fourth stage expands upon dissemination. The function of the principle does not go beyond the permanent and impermanent, the true and the responsive. This teaching jointly clarifies the eight principles in contrast, which should eliminate the eight inversions, just as female and male correspond. The text merely lists six practices, which is an abbreviation. As for being 'like the sun and moon,' these four similes are used to establish the true and responsive natures. When the sun and moon rise in the heavens, all forms are seen; this specifically presents the true and the responsive to reveal the virtue of sovereign mastery.
