- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.237](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1764.1.237)

> Within the first part, the first two verses explain the absence of a savior; the following two and a half verses explain the loss of having no savior. Among those on the absence of a savior, the first half-verse declares their own minds; the next half-verse explains the one without a savior; the following one verse manifests their own sorrow and suffering. Within \[the verses on\] the loss of having no savior, first is the dharma, next the metaphor, then the application, and below the conclusion. 'Poor and destitute, without a savior' is the explanation in terms of dharma: being poor means having no good wealth; being in evil means having no rescue or protection, like the metaphor below. From 'living beings' onward is the application; from 'Therefore' onward is the conclusion.
