> Question: Below it is stated, "Having eliminated impermanent form, one attains permanent form; feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are also like this." Why is it said that the Buddha is without the pleasure of feeling? Explanation: Among feelings there are two kinds: first, feeling objects of sensory realms, whether adverse or agreeable; second, realizing the Dharma and concordantly taking in the true Dharma, which is therefore called "feeling." Now, when it is said to be "without," it is without the former feeling; below, when it is said to "attain," one attains the latter feeling, so the two statements do not conflict. The latter two are understandable. \[This completes the section\] from "We only pray that you will again condescend to explain broadly" above.
