大般涅槃經義記 4.40

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [4.40](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1764.4.40)

自下第三廣破有無，成前第一，先問、後答。於前問中，先難定有，後難定無。由佛向說乳有酪相，故難定有；恐佛被難，轉立無義，故難定無。

> From here below, the third section extensively refutes existence and non-existence, establishing the first \[theme\] above; first comes the question, followed by the answer. In the preceding question, it first raises an objection against determinate existence, and then raises an objection against determinate non-existence. Because the Buddha just said that milk has the marks of curd, he raises an objection against determinate existence; fearing that upon being challenged the Buddha might turn and posit the meaning of non-existence, he raises an objection against determinate non-existence.
