> Having measure and measureless are distinguished in terms of dharmas, for which the explanation has three meanings: First, distinguishing by breadth and narrowness. The two truths of suffering and origination contemplated by the Hīnayāna are restricted to the causes and fruits of fragmentary \[saṃsāra\], and the two truths of cessation and the path are only the antidotes to the causes and fruits of fragmentary \[saṃsāra\]; the dharmas contemplated are confined, hence called having measure. The suffering and origination contemplated by the Mahāyāna encompass both kinds of cause and fruit—fragmentary and transformed; cessation and the path collectively take in both kinds of antidote—fragmentary and transformed; the dharmas contemplated are broad and vast, hence called measureless.
