> Within the contemplation, there are six \[parts\]: first, explaining that the bodhisattva fears death and renounces birth; second, the parable of the boy, clarifying that the bodhisattva is not like the novice who seeks birth to sever death; third, the parable of selling food, \[showing that he is\] not like the ordinary person who creates causes for the sake of birth; fourth, the parable of the poisonous tree, explaining that the suffering of death is pervasive and widespread, establishing that birth is to be loathed; fifth, the parable of excrement, explaining that the suffering of death is vast and enduring, establishing that birth is to be loathed; sixth, the parable of the precipitous cliff, explaining that birth is intermingled with false pleasures that cause people to be greedily deluded, establishing that birth is to be feared.
