> Only these three passages have six phrases: first, clarifying that within this emptiness there are no conditioned dharmas of suffering, impermanence, impurity, and non-self—from 'namely' below it lacks the character 'without' (無); if complete, it should say 'namely without impermanence, suffering, non-self, and so forth'; second, clarifying that within this emptiness there are no internal or external affairs of aggregates, realms, and entrances; third, clarifying that within this emptiness there are no sentient beings or life-spans, which are precisely what is emptied; fourth, again in terms of the first phrase clarifying the absence of conditioned and defiled dharmas; fifth, again in terms of the second clarifying the absence of all internal and external affairs; sixth, clarifying that within this emptiness there are no Buddha, Dharma, Saṅgha, or buddha-nature—'the four dharmas such as the Buddha are neither conditioned nor unconditioned' briefly marks it out; from 'nature is wholesome' below explains that because their nature is wholesome they are not unconditioned. In terms of the unconditioned, space and non-analytical cessation are indeterminate in substance, whereas the Buddha and so forth are wholesome, hence they are not among them; among analytical cessations through cutting defilements by worldly wisdom and so forth, although their substance is wholesome, because they are coarse and shallow, the Buddha and so forth are not identical with them—such meanings are now briefly not discussed. That the permanent is not conditioned is readily known in principle; herein one should properly clarify that they are not unconditioned, and conditioned is the counterpart of the unconditioned, discussed by association.
