> In the latter knowing what is right, the first two know the principle of cause and effect, and the latter five know the dharmas of practice. In the former two, "whether nature or mark": this single heading knows the principle of the marks of dharmas of the two truths; fully knowing buddha-nature is named "nature"; knowing the differences in the marks of dharmas such as suffering, bliss, permanence, and impermanence is termed "marks." "Whether cause or condition": this single heading knows the facts of causes and effects; knowing that evil causes and conditions lead to falling into the evil destinies, and wholesome karmic causes and conditions lead to birth in good destinies and attaining liberation, is therefore called "causes and conditions."
