- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [16.16](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1767.16.16)

> From "Kāśyapa addressed the Buddha" onward, the third \[part\] is Kāśyapa's making of vows. The text has three \[sections\]: first, grasping the import; second, pitying others; third, making vows himself. Making vows himself has four \[aspects\]: first, vowing to use the skin and bones of his direct retribution as paper and brush to transmit and uphold the five practices; second, vowing to provide ample and abundant material wealth and power of circumstantial retribution so that they may be promulgated and practiced; third, vowing to use the power of wisdom to subdue and gather; fourth, vowing to devote his three karmas entirely to honor and serve those of like aspiration.
