- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.9](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1767.2.9)

> Next, the list. Since \[Vai\]śālī is stated to be six times superior, the preceding should be six Ganges. However, the number of kings can be counted; excluding only the one person Ajāta\[śatru\], the rest need not be measured by the Ganges, hence the number is not stated. The text has three parts: those summoned, receiving the summons, and complying with the summons. In the first part, "those summoned", there are category and names. In the category, King Ajāta\[śatru\] is excluded because this king comes later; the names are listed as in the text. From "marshalling the fourfold army" onward, this is complying with the summons. "These kings and so forth": this is praising their virtues, possessing both seeking above and converting below. Praising their virtues without fixed order reveals their non-fixity. Next, "also at dawn" is receiving the summons. Third, "carrying sweet delicacies" and so forth is complying with the summons.
