> The Eulogy says: Sixth, the supernatural wonder of the halo. In Sanskrit it is samādhi, translated here as equipoise; 'sanmei' is a corruption. Within the Mahāyāna, wondrous concentration and wisdom, both their characters and their meanings are distinctly manifest. 'Clearly manifest' is an alternative name for brilliantly luminous. The meaning here shows that within the halo there are concentration and wisdom, with the characters and meanings brilliantly luminous, filling the vision and clearly apparent; upon beholding the text, the meaning becomes apparent, so the meaning is said to be manifested. Otherwise, how could light manifest meaning? This reveals that although he has entered cessation, his meditative concentration and wisdom have always been brightly luminous.
