- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.56](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1775.1.56)

> \[Seng\]zhao says: The Path of non-arising cannot be gained and then lost—this is "non-retrogression." Flowing forth and all-pervading, unattached to any single person—this is the "wheel." Since the buddhas turn this wheel, the mahāsattvas are also able to accord with and turn it. Another recension reads: "Turn the non-retrogressing wheel of Dharma." \[Kumāra\]jīva says: The wheel of Dharma is the forbearance of non-arising. Conferring the wheel upon beings, when beings attain this wheel it is called "turning." When those conferred with it attain it without losing it, it is called "non-retrogression." One's own vehicle turning and advancing is also called "turning."
