- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [3.17](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1775.3.17)

> \[Kumāra\]jīva says: The body is itself the single mark; it does not depend on being destroyed before one accords with it. \[Seng\]zhao says: When the myriad things are of the same import and right and wrong are viewed identically, that is the single mark. Thus the body is itself the single mark; why wait until destroying the body and annihilating the form to call it the single mark? The body refers to the body of the five aggregates. \[Dao\]sheng says: For one who has severed lust, anger, and delusion, the body is destroyed in nirvāṇa. In nirvāṇa there are no longer immeasurable bodily marks, which constitutes the single mark. Not destroying the body seems contrary to the matter, hence he says 'accord with.'
