注維摩詰經 4.318

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [4.318](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1775.4.318)

> \[Seng\]zhao says: Decisively examining principles is called knowledge (jñāna); formulating mental discernment is called wisdom (prajñā). Above, one determines \[the needs of\] sentient beings and ascertains the marks of dharmas, and then expounds the Dharma; hence it is linked to knowledge. Here, one formulates mental discernment of the marks of dharmas to cause entry into the single gate; hence it is linked to wisdom. Another recension says: "Deeds of knowledge and deeds of wisdom." \[Kumāra\]jīva says: Between the two kinds of deeds, wisdom and illumination are superior; hence there are two kinds of distinctions. Internally seeing dharmas for oneself is called wisdom; externally knowing the mental marks of sentient beings without doubt and expounding the Dharma for them is called knowledge.
