- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [5.276](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1775.5.276)

> \[Kumāra\]jīva says: "Though saṃsāra is wearying, to be able not to weary of it and skillfully dwell in perils and hardships is called upāya." \[Seng\]zhao says: "The Mahāyāna's contemplation of the four non-constants is precisely the equanimous, true contemplation; therefore it is called wisdom. With an equanimous mind to dwell in the world without weariness is called upāya. The words of consolation are precisely this matter."
