- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [6.272](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1775.6.272)

> \[Seng\]zhao says: Having no vehicle and no non-vehicle is precisely the Mahāyāna, which is why the fragrant grove is used as a metaphor. It clarifies that the room of the Pure Name is not mingled with the fragrance of the two vehicles; could one who stays in this room smell anything else? From this one can know what vehicle my aspiration is. \[Dao\]sheng says: That Vimalakīrti dwells in this room and responds is a great illumination of the ultimate principle. And the ultimate principle does not adopt lesser meanings; this illustrates the Buddha's virtues perfuming outward.
