The fragrances of that realm, compared to the fragrances of humans and devas across the buddha-worlds of the ten directions, are foremost. In that land there are no names for śrāvakas or pratyekabuddhas; there is only a pure assembly of great bodhisattvas to whom the buddha preaches the Dharma. Everything in that realm is made of fragrance: the pavilions and walking grounds, the fragrant earth, the parks and gardens are all fragrant, and the fragrance of its food pervades immeasurable worlds in the ten directions. At that time, that buddha was just sitting down to eat together with the bodhisattvas, and devas all named Fragrance Ornament, having all aroused the thought of anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi, were making offerings to that buddha and the bodhisattvas. The whole great assembly here saw this with their own eyes. Then Vimalakīrti addressed the bodhisattvas, saying: "Virtuous ones!
