- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [9.100](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1775.9.100)

> \[Kumāra\]jīva says: 'Exhaustible' has two kinds: first, unconditioned exhaustion; second, conditioned exhaustion. Conditioned exhaustion is the exhaustion through impermanent change and cessation. Unconditioned exhaustion is the wisdom that cuts off and causes extinction. Here, the 'exhaustible gateway' refers to the conditioned, impermanent exhaustion. 'Unobstructed' means not being obstructed by either of the two matters. Not exhausting conditioned meritorious virtues avoids the obstruction of the pṛthagjana; not dwelling in the unconditioned avoids the obstruction of the two vehicles.
