- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [9.144](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1775.9.144)

> \[Kumāra\]jīva says: 'Abandoning all possessions' means that they are capable of relinquishing their own bodies and lives, as well as kingdoms, cities, wives, and children, bestowing them as gifts to sentient beings. When bestowing them on sentient beings, they clearly comprehend that this giving will certainly make omniscience complete. Seeing cause and effect clearly, they give without regret. \[Seng\]zhao says: Whatever is bestowed has a wondrous ultimate goal. Furthermore, they examine cause and effect to be not in vain.
