- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [9.224](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1775.9.224)

> \[Seng\]zhao says: The two vehicles take impermanence as impermanence, and therefore weary of wholesome conditioned dharmas; they take suffering as suffering, and therefore abhor the suffering of saṃsāra; they take non-self as non-self, and therefore grow weary of instructing people; they take quiescence as quiescence, and therefore wish for permanent quiescence. Bodhisattvas do not take impermanence as impermanence, and so are able not to tire of the roots of goodness; they do not take suffering as suffering, and so do not abhor saṃsāra; they do not take non-self as non-self, and so instruct people untiringly; they do not take quiescence as quiescence, and so do not permanently rest in quiescence.
