- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.64](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1777.1.64)

> Answer: Goodness follows along with the person, but is obstructed by delusions; evil is newly arisen and does not permanently belong to the person. Therefore, \[the siddhānta\] 'for the person' calms evil and generates goodness; goodness belongs to the person. The antidote severs evil, and the person is not the evil; if the person were the evil, then when evil is extinguished, the person should also be extinguished. Therefore, we know that evil does not belong to the person.
