- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.66](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1777.1.66)

> Answer: At first glance it is so, but if one traces their primary intent, their meanings are not the same. In '\[the siddhānta\] for the person', evil is new and goodness is old; in 'the therapeutic \[siddhānta\]', evil is old and goodness is new. In '\[the siddhānta\] for the person', new evil is easily extinguished: when expounded to them, it ceases; their past goodness is profound, and it naturally unfolds. In 'the therapeutic \[siddhānta\]', old evil is hard to eliminate, and new goodness is weak; if one does not apply the practice of antidotes, the evil dharmas will not be extinguished.
