> Second, explaining the stage of the ten abidings: This is the lineage of practice-nature, the stage of the ten understandings. Entering the prajñā of principle is called abiding. What is called 'entering principle' directly enters biased truth, resembling entry into the perfect true principle. Relative to the Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra, it is precisely cultivating the contemplation of the four noble truths of non-arising. Here we explain that these ten abidings all cultivate the contemplation of embodying conventionality to enter emptiness, giving rise to biased true wisdom, severing \[delusions of\] view and thought within the realm, obtaining the eye of wisdom of all-knowledge, and generating an understanding resembling the middle way; this is the stage of the heat stage in the distinctive teaching.
