> Tenth, analogously correlating the nirvāṇa of the three virtues: first, the dharma-body; second, prajñā; third, liberation. The liberation of the true nature is the dharma-body; the liberation of real wisdom is mahāprajñā; the liberation of expedient means is liberation; hence the Nirvāṇa Sūtra states: 'Wherever the Buddhas and bodhisattvas tame sentient beings, that is named liberation.' If severing affliction and leaving birth-and-death were named liberation, how would that differ from the two vehicles? Now we explain that Great Vehicle liberation takes birth in the five destinies, manifesting its body; being itself unfree of bonds, it can untie the bonds of others. These three virtues are neither vertical nor horizontal, like the three eyes of Maheśvara; they are called the secret treasury, perfecting great nirvāṇa.
