If one receives this teaching, one can destroy the extreme heterodox attachments to existence and non-existence, see that causes and conditions are neither existent nor non-existent, and generate true taintlessness. Because of neither existence nor non-existence one sees the truth; neither existence nor non-existence is the gate to the supreme meaning. Channa of foul speech entered the path through this, but no treatise's explanation has yet been seen. Some say: "The Vātsīputrīya Abhidharma sets forth this intent. That treatise clarifies that 'self' is in the fifth ineffable basket; the 'self' is not of the three times, which is a dharma of neither existence nor non-existence, and hence is not empty."
