> Question: What fault is there in this? Answer: In the Tripiṭaka and Shared teachings, upon the path of seeing, all views are severed; in the Separate Teaching, ascending the \[first\] ground severs views beyond the realms; neither can praise the virtues of \[bodhisattvas in\] the stage of succession. The Upāsaka-śīla Sūtra states: "The ninth ground severs the habits of views; the tenth ground severs the habits of attachment." The Bhūmidhāra-\[śāstra\] says: "The pure and cleansed dhyāna that is free from all views"; this is based on equal enlightenment. Therefore, we now rely on this to interpret this text, and our school's doctrine of perfect severance becomes all the more clear.
