If they do not obtain the unseen support of the sage's power, external difficulties will invade and press upon them; if they receive the conferral of divine light, it will also cause their minds' understanding to open and penetrate. With internal causes and external conditions both orderly, the Dharma jewel will not be cut off; therefore he commands him to confer spiritual power upon beings who are capable of hearing it.
