> Question: Why is the secret of the mind descending into traces, while the body and mouth reveal the fundamental? Answer: The principle of the body and mind of the six perfections is profound and hidden; in undertaking conversion through expedient means, depending on the capacity of beings there are specific affairs, and the body and mouth provisionally conform to the secular. Only when one seeks out their ultimate significance does one know they express the fundamental. Now first, descending into traces from the fundamental, benefiting beings, and revealing the fundamental are all in terms of the six perfections. The six perfections are the body fulfilled with pāramitās, where the three bodies and three virtues are neither vertical nor horizontal, like the secular letter \*i\*.
