- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [7.32](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1778.7.32)

> From "Because \[…\] to unmoved" is the second \[part\], the explanation. Just as in the Co-dwelling Land one takes the māras and heterodox practitioners of craving and views as attendants, the beings formed by craving and views in all three lands are likewise all called attendants. If craving and views are identical to emptiness, not abandoned and unmoved, then that is having no attendants. Being identical to emptiness yet there existing beings of craving and views, Vimalakīrti does not stagnate, does not abandon, and is unmoved, subduing them to make them endowed with all buddha-dharmas—this is the meaning of having attendants. Quiescent Light is forever free of craving and views, and thus has no māras or heterodox practitioners; hence there are no attendants.
