- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [8.19](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1778.8.19)

> Question: If the severance of both extremes is called "nothing produced," why is it that at the first abode there are still forty-one grades of production? Answer: When one grade of production is severed, that is one \[instance of\] non-production; although there are forty-one grades of production, all are without fixed nature, which is non-production. Thus the Dàzhìdù lùn says: "Though one has not yet escaped the place of death, one is regarded as having already escaped."
