- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [6.49](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1779.6.49)

> Second, examination, in two \[parts\]: first, explaining in terms of present attainments of non-Buddhists. Second, reducing them to not being fertile fields. Regarding "Possessing the sand and saline soil of \[the delusions of\] views and thoughts": this borrows worldly fields to explain the supramundane field of merit. The assertion of 'not being' means that there is only sand and saline soil, not a fertile field; thus persons of the two vehicles still possess the sand and saline soil of the delusions of dust and sand and ignorance. Lǔ means salty soil.
