> Question: Now it is said that all five dwellings are eliminated; how do these correspond to the three liberations? Answer: The perfectly integrated three liberations all eliminate the five dwellings. If matching them specifically, there is nonetheless an intended meaning: liberation of the true nature eliminates fundamental ignorance; liberation of real wisdom eliminates \[the afflictions of\] view and thought; liberation of expedient means eliminates \[afflictions like\] dust and sand. Gathering the specific into the general and selecting the general through the specific—one should grasp the meaning so as not to lose the perfect intent.
