> Second, from "Having already broken down" downward, concluding the intention. Second, opening the sections for detailed explanation, which has two parts: first, listing the sections; second, following with the explanations, in five parts: first, the purpose of this chapter's occurrence, which has two parts: first, a general indication. Jingxi says: As for "expedient stratagem," clarifying that his manifesting his body in every place in the "Expedient Means Chapter" is precisely that phenomenon. One should ask: For expedient means without stratagem, why can one further speak of "expedient stratagem"? The answer is: Being without stratagem is precisely the great expedient stratagem. "The great image has no form; the great sound has faint voice." Therefore we know that the inconceivable expedient stratagem is precisely the faint voice, formless, great form and sound. As for "previously having already used the four teachings," and so forth: the mention of "ordinary persons" refers to the "Expedient Means Chapter"; the mention of "the two vehicles" refers to the "Disciples Chapter"; "the various biased bodhisattvas" refers to the "Bodhisattva Chapter."
