- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [9.138](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1779.9.138)

> has two parts: first, the question. "Endowed with five things": this comes from the Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa. It means that during the second asaṃkhyeya \[kalpa\], one abandons five things and attains five virtues: attaining knowledge of past lives and abandoning forgetfulness; attaining completeness of all sense faculties and abandoning physical deformity; attaining birth in a noble family and abandoning base poverty; attaining a human or heavenly body and abandoning the three evil paths; and attaining a male body and abandoning a female body. Here, two mention what is attained and three mention what is abandoned, thus constituting the five things.
