> Second, explaining transformation, which has two parts: first, recounting the purport and dividing the sections; second, following the text to explain the meaning, which has four parts: first, the goddess transforms herself into Śāriputra and asks; second, Śāriputra answers in a female form; third, providing the explanation. Regarding "like a mirror..." and so forth: the mirror illustrates the dharmakāya, the face illustrates the capacity and conditions \[of beings\], and the reflection illustrates the manifest response. The mirror has the principle of manifesting reflections, and the face has the nature of generating reflections; hence when the face confronts the mirror, the reflection arises. Fourth, citing the Buddha's words. Regarding "neither male nor female": because all dharmas are transformed by the mind, and the mind is unattainable, where could male or female exist?
