> Second, from "if the three" downward, the actual explanation according to meaning has two \[parts\]: first, a brief explanation—regarding "what is clarified by the three teachings is precisely the relative," Jingxi says: outside of the three paths there are altogether three liberations. For a person of the perfect \[teaching\], the three paths can be known in terms of \[the principle of\] identity, as the text broadly explains. Regarding "the inconceivable of the conceivable," the three teachings progressively relate to what is above: the above can conceive of the below, hence it is "conceivable"; the below cannot conceive of the above, which is "inconceivable." Regarding "the inconceivable of the inconceivable," the three paths are precisely the three virtues, and for ordinary people and sages principle is one; not only can the below not conceive of the above, but the above also cannot conceive of the below; hence it is called "inconceivable \[of the inconceivable\]," etc.
