> Next, explaining inconceivable liberation. The name inconceivable liberation broadly has three meanings: First, the Dharma gate of non-duality is none other than the principle of true reality. Since mental activity is cut off, the mind cannot conceptualize it; since speech is also extinguished, the mouth cannot discuss it; this is named inconceivable. Since thoughts are severed and speech is forgotten, fetters and bonds are purified; this is named liberation. The fourteen chapters of the sūtra are specifically for hearing non-duality; therefore we know non-duality is the root of inconceivable liberation. Second, by realizing the principle of non-duality there is wisdom free of duality; by having wisdom free of duality one can adapt and transform without fixed direction. Since the path unifies both streams, the mind is free of effort; therefore, without conceptualizing he manifests forms, and without discussing he expounds teachings—this is named inconceivable. Unconstrained and unimpeded, not bound by effort—this is called liberation. Third, internally possessing the root of the provisional and real, he manifests the traces of form and speech, none of which can be measured by lower-stage bodhisattvas, the two vehicles, or ordinary people; this is named inconceivable. Internally and externally unobstructed and liberated from hindrances, this is called liberation. The essence of the inconceivable consists only of principle, wisdom, and teaching; establishing names based on its essence likewise rests solely upon these three.
