> Commentary: Here there are three phrases. The interpretation according to the principle of emptiness states: That which is free from this, that, and the intermediary can reach Nirvāṇa, hence it is called the 'path'. Because one penetrates all views, the wise praise it. Because it is neither form nor non-form, it is embraced by the noble ones. The interpretation according to proper reason states: For one who renounces for the sake of the unconditioned, first, one reaches Nirvāṇa; second, one is praised by the noble ones; third, one is embraced by noble conduct. All the noble ones constantly embrace and receive such a one, considering it superior. The older \[version\] says 'abiding in Nirvāṇa'; relying on this as the path, one is able to abide in Nirvāṇa. It also says 'the sphere of practice of the noble ones', which means being praised by the noble ones, because it accords with the noble mind.
