> Question: If so, what body is the sixteen-foot body beneath the tree-king, since it is neither \[this\] Buddha nor deer and horses? Answer: For the moment, as it responds in conformity with the human form, it belongs to the response body. There is also another explanation: for example, within the Mahāyāna, when wisdom harmonizes with the middle principle, it constitutes the dharmakāya. Here it is likewise: its embodiment being a human form is identical with true emptiness; hence it belongs to the true body.
