- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.17](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1785.1.17)

> Regarding "roamed": it simply has the meaning of traversing, entering, and advancing. Now, dharmatā is without entering, abiding, or emerging; hence the Smaller Prajñāpāramitā states: "As for the Tathāgata, he comes from nowhere and goes nowhere, hence he is named Tathāgata." How can one speak of roaming? Truly, because he guides beings through loving-kindness and compassion, modeling \[it\] for us to enter, it is therefore termed "roamed." Causing sentient beings to taste the flavor of nectar should also be called dwelling; proclaiming it for sentient beings should also be called emerging. Therefore the Lotus Sūtra states: "Skillfully entering, emerging from, and dwelling in hundreds of thousands of samādhis"; this is precisely the meaning.
